Setting up a military surplus tent can be a bit challenging, but with some practice, it can be done relatively easily.

Here are some tips on how to set up an Army surplus tent:

  • Choose a level spot for your tent. This will help ensure that your tent stays dry and doesn't collapse in on itself.

  • Unfold the tent and lay it out on the ground. Make sure that all of the poles are in place and that the canvas is not ripped or damaged in any way.

  • Start by attaching the rain fly to the front of the tent. Then, extend the poles and insert them into the grommets around the perimeter of the tent.

  • Once the poles are all secured, attach the tie downs to the poles and stake them into the ground.

  • Place the canvas tent walls over the poles and attach to zippers.

Attach the rain fly to the front of your tent. This will help keep out rain, wind, and snow while still allowing air to flow through the tent. Bunk up on top of your Army surplus tent! Be careful not to rip or damage it in any way!
