How to Inspect the Exterior of a Used Car in Jeddah

Regardless of who you buy from, always inspect the vehicle thoroughly and take it to a mechanic for a thorough inspection. Dress in old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and inspect the car thoroughly.

Do your inspection during the day on a sunny day, as floodlights can make cars appear shiny and hide body flaws. The vehicle should be parked on a level surface and not driven for at least an hour before your inspection. A certified car inspection company in Jeddah can assist you in purchasing a used car that looks and functions just like a new one.

Examine each panel and the roof for scratches, dents, and rust. Keep an eye out for misaligned panels or large gaps, which can indicate either sloppy factory assembly or shoddy repair. Every panel should have the same paint color and finish.

Put a small magnet on a dent if you suspect it has been patched. The magnet will not stick to a body-filled area. Paint may be adhering to the rubber seals around the hood and trunk lid if other parts of the car have been repainted.

Close and open all of the doors, the hood, and the trunk. Lift and release each door gently, especially the driver's door. If the car appears to be loose on its hinges, it has been subjected to harsh or prolonged use. Rubber seals should be inspected for tearing or rot.

Examine the glass carefully to ensure that there are no cracks or large, pocked areas. A minor stone chip may not be cause for concern, but you should bring it up during negotiations. Examine the car to see its sitting level. Each corner should be pushed down.
